Overview

The Evoke Duo is a new partnership between two highly accomplished musicians who share a passion for performing classical music. Their programme covers major composers from the eighteenth to twentieth centuries, a journey filled with passion, elegance and artistry.  

Musicians

Natarani Witten – Hannah: Cello

Natarani has performed in widely in various orchestras, the Heartstrings Duo  (with Classical Guitar) and is now excited to return to performing the magnificent range of cello repertoire with piano. This follows her studying at Auckland University, the Trinity  College of Music, London, and the University of Canterbury. She holds a Master of Music degree in Performance Cello.

Natarani has also trained in the Suzuki method, enjoys teaching a wide range of students of all ages, and has a string quartet available for concerts and events.

Elizabeth Lau: Piano

Elizabeth Lau is a collaborative pianist, double bassist, music director, and conductor, and holds a first-class honours Masters in Music degree in performance.

An enthusiastic educator, Elizabeth regularly presents masterclasses and workshops across New Zealand, with a focus on the New Zealand Suzuki Institutes. Elizabeth is also the founder of the Wairua Sinfonietta and the Wairua Youth Sinfonia—two orchestras committed to delivering charity concerts. On top of her busy schedule, she runs a private studio, teaching piano and double bass, as well as offering lessons at various schools across Auckland. With a strong belief in the transformative power of music, Elizabeth strives to make a positive impact in the world through her work.
