Overview:

This concert “Love, Passion, Romance” is a violin and piano recital with a great variety of pieces and diverse styles of music, taking the audience on an exciting and very emotional musical journey. As the title suggests, the repertoire will be looking at the different forms of love; from Brahms’ love towards nature that inspired him to create the 2 nd Violin Sonata the most tender and joyous of sonatas, Clara’s sublime and ethereal “Three Romances” to Dellapiccola’s affection of Italian Baroque in his “Tartriniana Seconda” and Ravel’s fascination of the gypsy culture that led him to compose the passionate and exuberant “Tzigane”.

Apart from some of the most beloved staple pieces for violin & piano, the concert will also include the NZ premiere of Petrovski’s “Bric – a – Brac” and for many, a personal premiere of the rarely performed “Tartiniana Seconda” by Dellapiccola.

The Ristov Duo with this concert invites the audience to join the worldwide 2025 celebration of Ravel’s 150th birthday anniversary.
